Application to Speak @ Better Boards Conference 2019

Applications to speak at the 2019 Conference will close on Friday 14th December 2018.
The Better Boards Conference organising committee is now accepting original papers and presentations that address the 2019 conference theme and focus.
The key deliverable of all presentations at the Better Boards Conference is
high-level professional development and practical solutions for chairs, board members & CEOs of Australasia’s not-for-profit (NFP) organisations.
Applications must address an aspect of the conference theme and focus areas:
Theme and Streams
“Governance (R)evolution – Strategies for Success.”
The Better Boards Conference 2019 will explore the inherent tensions between evolution and revolution that a board and CEO must consider.
Presentations should help delegates learn to recognise these types of change, gain practical tools, processes and ideas to drive successful organisational
transformation and govern for long-term financial sustainability and success.
Discussions should focus in the following key areas that underpin the conference theme:
Strategic business development. How to develop and grow your NFP Business.
Financial success & sustainability. How to fund your future - fund your ‘unfundables’.
Professionalise your board. How to improve the quality of governance and leadership.
Applications should reference the conference theme (above) in conjunction with one of the following areas:
Board Financials / Strategic Financial Management
Good Governance / Systems & Processes
Legal & Compliance
Performance & Metrics
Revenue Generation / Growing Customer Base & Markets
For applications intended for an audience of CEOs, preference will be given to presentations that focus on the following topics:
CEO & Boardroom Dynamics
Strategic Business Models
Strategic Leadership (development)
Applications will be considered in the first instance for workshop presentations. Duration is approximately 30 - 45 minutes, actual length will be confirmed on acceptance into the conference program. Presentations must include a planned segment of at least 10 minutes for questions and discussion with the audience.
Presentations must focus on the board, governance and/or the CEO leadership level of knowledge,
and provide clear actionable outcomes and practical solutions, processes or tools for delegates.
Preference is likely to be given to applications that cover advanced knowledge, contain practical information, take-aways and tools, and that use applied or evidence-based research.
